Work
Today I woke up a bit late, around 8:45 AM. Because of that, my morning was fast and busy. However, I still managed to finish my morning routine on time and had an opportunity to join our morning meeting. The meeting was without the team lead because he was absent until around 2–3 PM, so the deputy team lead was responsible during that time. During the meeting, the deputy team lead mostly wanted to have casual conversations, but the lead developer started asking questions about tasks and discussing them. Eventually, we got involved in work-related topics. Honestly, the meeting didn’t last long — about twenty minutes in total — but we could have used that time just to relax and take a short break from work worries.
It’s already December 26, and there are only five days left until the end of the year. I clearly remember the first months of this year — how I obtained my Schengen visa and traveled to Europe twice. I also recall my trips to several Asian countries. These experiences became some of the most unforgettable journeys of my life. Time passed incredibly fast, but fortunately, I managed to preserve those moments. My blog pages are now filled with travel stories, and, of course, these memories remain vivid in my mind as well. Despite everything, I truly enjoy this period of the year. I’m not entirely sure why, because the final days are usually quite hectic. Yet, I feel calm and comfortable. There’s a noticeable New Year atmosphere everywhere — decorations in the streets, people in a festive mood, and the pleasant realization that I’ll have long weekends over the next two weeks. It’s simply a wonderful time to slow down and rest.
I tried to use chlorhexidine again, as my dentist recommended, and I started to feel uncomfortable in my mouth again. Today, however, I used it only twice: after lunch and after dinner. Right now, I have slight discomfort and some itching. All the time, I want to touch the operated area with my tongue and scratch it. However, I don’t feel any swelling, but I have started to notice something strange around my implants. When I touch it with my tongue, I feel something sharp. It feels like a bone, and it seems to be growing. I have no idea what it is, but it doesn’t cause pain or anything else. I’m also 100 percent sure it’s not food or anything stuck there, because I ate only soft food and was extremely careful. So I think I’ll just wait until December 27, or maybe I’ll send a message to my dentist and ask about it.
Today I was supposed to start rinsing my mouth with chlorhexidine 0.05% because my dentist wrote about it in the prescription. However, when I tried it, I noticed that the operated area started to ache a little. I also noticed that my swelling seemed to increase slightly. I’m not completely sure about this, and I have some doubts — maybe it was just my imagination or it happened spontaneously. So I decided not to use chlorhexidine for a few days to observe the situation. If everything is fine over the next few days, I will try it again. If something happens, I plan to discuss it with my dentist.
In the prescription, the dentist wrote that I should use it three times after meals. The first time I used it after lunch, the second time around 3 PM, and the third time I planned to use it after dinner, which is my last meal of the day. However, I skipped the last time and didn’t use it. Now the operated area doesn’t hurt. Even this morning and during the first part of the day, I felt that the swelling was smaller than yesterday or had even disappeared. I also stopped taking antibiotics — today was the last day.
As usual, my day started with my morning routine. After I woke up, I looked outside through my window and then walked to the toilet and bathroom. Everything outside looked the same as always—no changes at all. I saw the cloudy sky, the dirty road, and the wind moving the branches of the trees. It felt a bit sad to see the same picture every day. After that, in the bathroom, I washed my hands and continued with my morning routine. Honestly, I was very lucky this morning because I found a new tube of toothpaste. My previous one was empty, and I had forgotten to buy a new one. While I brushed my teeth, cleaned my tongue, and washed my face, the time quickly got closer to the start of my work.
I had just a perfect day. I have several reasons for it. First and the main reason is salary day. Yeah, today was salary day. I love these days so much. I wish days like this happened more often. The next reason is the weather. Today I also saw the sun — no rain and no strange weather accidents. Even though the sun appeared only for half of the day, it was still good and improved my mood. Another reason is my work. Today I had such a cool task, and it really satisfied me. I think it’s that feeling when you work and you’re satisfied with yourself. And then after that, you also get your salary. I can't say my other workdays are bad — I just want to say that today brought me that feeling twice.
I had some troubles, and this day was a bit uncomfortable overall. The first thing that happened was about my schedule in Google Calendar. When I opened my calendar and started checking it, I saw only one meeting for Monday. After that, I thought, “What’s going on?” and started having some doubts about my work. Then another thing happened during my morning meeting — I managed to connect successfully, but I had problems with my voice and microphone. My colleagues couldn’t hear me clearly because my voice sounded very low and unclear — they could only hear the bass tones. All of that made it difficult for me to discuss my work normally. In the end, I couldn’t talk about my tasks, ask questions, or share my opinions.
My day started with a rainy morning. When I woke up, the rain clouds were covering the entire sky, and it kept raining the whole day. Not even for a few minutes did the rain take a break—it just kept going non-stop. But this rainy day didn’t really bother me. It only distracted me from time to time when I turned off the noise-canceling mode on my headphones. If I keep my windows closed, I can listen without noise canceling, since I usually spend my day alone and it’s very quiet here. The weather wasn’t too bad though—the temperature outside was around 8 degrees, and when I looked through the window, I could feel a very warm wind.
This post should actually start with what happened yesterday, because around 11 PM something interesting and nice happened. Well, yesterday, a few hours after I published my post, I got a message on Telegram. That message was from the same freelance client I’ve written about many times before, including in my last post. My client informed me about the bank transaction status — he kept his word and sent me the money. It really surprised me because it happened right after I published my post. I even joked to myself that maybe he read my post and decided to send it after that. But of course, that’s just a joke — he doesn’t know about my blog. It was just a coincidence.
The last few days, the weather hasn’t made me happy because it’s been raining every day, the sky covered with clouds, and the temperature has been low, around 2–5 degrees. Today, when I got up from bed, I noticed the weather from my window. Outside, it was raining and cold, and I even heard the wind blowing against my windows. It was just a typical autumn day, with the trees covered in a golden blanket, and some trees had already lost their leaves. But I didn’t decide to be sad. I got up, dressed, and went to the bathroom to complete my morning routine. After as usual, I ate my breakfast, watched my American show, and then started my work.
I liked this day, even though it was Monday and the first workday of the week. Because it was my salary day! Yeah, the 5th and 20th of each month are my favorite days. And if these days happen to be on a Friday — it’s double the celebration! Friday is also one of my favorite days. So I always wait for these dates with excitement. The second thing that happened was about my freelance client. He texted me something new, and I think the ice finally moved — I might have a small chance to get my money. But I still have some doubts, because it’s already been about four months and I haven’t received anything yet. Even when we started the project, he promised to pay half of it in advance, but I declined that offer.
In July, a person from my old job texted me and asked, “Can you take one simple website and fix it?” I immediately said, “Yeah, of course! Send me the link and the list of tasks I need to fix.” After I checked everything, I told him how many hours it would take and how much it would cost. He also wanted to pay me part of the money before I started working, but I declined it, and we agreed that he would pay after I finished the work. Now I think I should’ve taken that money he wanted to give me.
