In July, a person from my old job texted me and asked, “Can you take one simple website and fix it?” I immediately said, “Yeah, of course! Send me the link and the list of tasks I need to fix.” After I checked everything, I told him how many hours it would take and how much it would cost. He also wanted to pay me part of the money before I started working, but I declined it, and we agreed that he would pay after I finished the work. Now I think I should’ve taken that money he wanted to give me.
I started this project in July, and now it’s October. More than three months have already passed, and it’s still not clear when he’ll pay. If he really wants to pay, it should be about 10,000 Russian rubles, around $100. At first, I thought it wasn’t a lot of money and didn’t remind him about it. But today I texted him again because I wanted to know what happened and get my money — because it’s my money!
The first time I texted him was on September 12, and he told me he could pay next week. But that week passed quietly, and he didn’t say anything about the payment. I decided not to disturb him because I was a bit busy, and it didn’t worry me much at that time. When I texted him today, he said he had problems with the payment systems and couldn’t pay, but again he promised to pay this week. Now I’m really curious to see what happens next because I think he won’t pay this week either. I wonder what he’ll tell me next time when I text him. If he doesn’t text me or pay this week, I’ll message him again next week.
