Thoughts about my work worries, health doubts, and an unexpected invitation
Today I was supposed to start rinsing my mouth with chlorhexidine 0.05% because my dentist wrote about it in the prescription. However, when I tried it, I noticed that the operated area started to ache a little. I also noticed that my swelling seemed to increase slightly. I’m not completely sure about this, and I have some doubts — maybe it was just my imagination or it happened spontaneously. So I decided not to use chlorhexidine for a few days to observe the situation. If everything is fine over the next few days, I will try it again. If something happens, I plan to discuss it with my dentist.
In the prescription, the dentist wrote that I should use it three times after meals. The first time I used it after lunch, the second time around 3 PM, and the third time I planned to use it after dinner, which is my last meal of the day. However, I skipped the last time and didn’t use it. Now the operated area doesn’t hurt. Even this morning and during the first part of the day, I felt that the swelling was smaller than yesterday or had even disappeared. I also stopped taking antibiotics — today was the last day.
My day was also unusual and a bit sad. Today our team lead couldn’t connect to Google Meet, and the whole department started using Telemost instead. In short, Telemost is similar to Google Meet, but it is developed by the Russian company Yandex. Honestly, I don’t want to use Russian services in general, especially those from Yandex. This company has leaked user data many times or protected it poorly. Another major reason is the control of the Russian FSB (Federal Security Service) over the company. I am 100% sure about this.
I should also mention my team lead because this situation surprised me. A few weeks ago, when my colleague couldn’t connect to Google Meet, the team lead said that we couldn’t use another service for meetings for the sake of one employee. However, today the opposite happened. He couldn’t connect, and everyone started using Telemost. I have no idea why. In my opinion, he should have tried to understand the issue, fix it, and connect to Google Meet. If he couldn’t figure it out, he could have canceled the morning meeting or rescheduled it. P.S. I don’t want to write anything bad about him — these are just my observations.
Another thing that happened to me is more positive, although it actually happened last week. My freelance client invited me to their New Year’s party. Right now, I can’t say for sure whether I will go, but I want to. However, I also have doubts because it will take place in a restaurant. If there is a host (tamada) or something similar, I would probably prefer to stay at home. One more important detail about this client is that they are my previous workplace’s CEO. In future posts, I will just write: “from my previous work, I got another project.”
