Challenge, day 6. I’ve been trying to figure out why my usual cycling route was suddenly blocked by fallen trees scattered across the path, with no explanation at all
Today I talked with my family about the issue I mentioned yesterday, just to hear their thoughts and figure out who might be responsible for that area so I could contact them or ask some questions. Instead, I was told, “Don’t do it, you’ll only get yourself into trouble with the city administration.” That really surprised me. So now I’m not even supposed to ask why a public route is blocked? It’s honestly frustrating, because that path is important for my bike rides. Now it feels like my only options are either to stop cycling altogether or to switch to busy city streets full of cars and exhaust fumes.
My family can keep their opinion, but I don’t want to accept that kind of thinking. To me, it feels wrong to just stay silent when something like this affects public space. If a route is blocked without any clear explanation or official notice, there should be a reason, and it should be communicated. Who decided to put those trees there, and why? It feels like my freedom of movement is being restricted on public roads without any transparency. I’ve already decided I’ll try to find the responsible people myself and ask directly. I believe someone should be able to explain what’s going on with those fallen and randomly scattered trees blocking the way.
Challenge, day 6. I decided to try to understand why my route was blocked with fallen and randomly spread out trees without any explanations
Today I discussed with my family about that issue from my yesterday post, where I mentioned fallen trees blocking the route. I just wanted to hear their opinion about it and know who is responsible for that area to call them or write some questions. But instead I heard, "Don't do it, you can get much more trouble with the city administration." Seriously, now I even can't ask why that route is blocked? Because it's really bothered me, and I can't ride my bike around that route. It turns out I need to stop my bike riding, or I need to use my city streets filled with cars and their exhaust gases.
My family can keep their opinion to themselves, but I don't want to be like them. Because it's a wrong decision, and it feels like I’m not free to decide for myself. If someone tried to block the route without any official documents or anything else, it should be explained. Why and who blocked my freedom of movement around public roads? So I already decided to try to find responsible people without their help and ask my questions. Because they are obliged to explain that situation, those fallen and randomly spread-out trees blocked my route.
