I read Alice in Wonderland and had a few problems with my old earpods
Today I finished two chapters of my book “Alice in Wonderland”—Chapter 6, “Pig and Pepper,” and Chapter 7, “A Mad Tea-Party.” I read them during my lunch break, which took about fifteen minutes, and I plan to read the next chapter later in the evening after my walk. So far, everything is going well, and I’m very involved in the reading process; it’s enjoyable and interesting, and I want to keep up this habit throughout the month and finish the book. I’ve even planned how long it will take me, and if I read one chapter each day, I can easily finish it without any worries. I’ll also have enough time for my old book, “The Best Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,” which is very important to me, since I made a promise to myself to keep reading it until I understand it 100%.
During the day, I also tried to fix my old wired headphones. I can’t comfortably use my headphones under my hood, and I don’t want to wear them outside when the temperature is below zero. That’s why, over the past few days, I started using my old wired headphones during my walks.
However, yesterday I noticed that the left side didn’t sound right. I tried to find a solution and fix the damaged part of the cable, but unfortunately, I couldn’t make the right decision. I didn’t want to just wrap it with insulating tape, because it doesn’t look presentable and may not be reliable. I even tried using special heat-shrink tubing to connect the wires, but it was only partially successful. In the end, I realized that it would be better to simply buy the same earpods instead of wasting more time trying to fix them.
Today I finished two chapters of my book "Alice in Wonderland". Chapter 6, "Pig and Pepper" and chapter 7, "A Mad Tea-Party". I read it during my lunch, it took around fifteen minutes. And next one I'll read closer to night, after my walk. While, everything is okay, I'm very involved in the reading process. It's pretty enjoyable and interesting. So I want to keep up my reading during this month and finish it. I also planned what time I can finish this book. If I'll read each day one chapter, I can finish it easily, without any worries. Even I can keep some time for my old book, "The Best Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". Because it's also very important for me, and I have promise. I promised myself about read it until I understood it 100%.
During my day I also tried to fix my old wired headphones. Because I can't use my headphones under my hook. It's a bit uncomfortable, and I don't want to use it outside during the minus degrees. Therefore, last few days, I started using my old wired headphones during my walk. However, yesterday I noticed how the left side didn't sound proper. So I started finding a decision, how can I fix the broken part of the cable? But, unfortunately, I couldn't make right decision. And I didn't want to just use insulating tape around the cable. I think this method is not presentable enough and maybe not reliable enough. I even tried using special thermo material for connect the wires. But it was partially unsuccessful. So in this situation, better to just buy the same earpods and not spend time fixing them.
What you did well:
- Good structure: reading → plan → headphones problem.
- You use linking words (“So”, “Because”, “However”) — that’s excellent.
- Vocabulary level is quite high (“involved”, “reliable”, “unfortunately”).
Main problems to fix:
- Verb forms (past vs present, infinitive vs gerund)
- Articles (“a”, “the”) — sometimes missing or unnecessary
- Some unnatural phrases (understandable, but not how natives say it)
- Very long sentences — they need to be split
Nothing is bad, but it can be more natural and polished
2. Common mistakes (with corrections):
- I read my book Alice in Wonderland → I read my book, “Alice in Wonderland,”
- had some troubles → had some trouble (“trouble” is uncountable)
- And next one I'll read closer to night → I’ll read the next one closer to night
- If I'll read each day one chapter → If I read one chapter each day (No will in the if-clause)
- I have promise → I made a promise / I have a promise to myself
- I promised myself about read it → I promised myself to read it
- finding a decision → finding a solution
- make right decision→ make the right decision
