I thought my old earpods were broken — but they weren’t

Today my day started as usual. I woke up, did my morning routine, and started working. But during the day, I decided to check my old EarPods again. When I connected them to my laptop, everything worked perfectly. However, when I tried to use them with my phone, they didn’t work at all. At that moment, I realized the problem was with my USB-C adapter. My phone doesn’t have a 3.5 mm audio jack, so I use a USB-C adapter to connect my EarPods. The adapter was damaged near the USB-C connector. I noticed it accidentally when I touched that spot. Now I know exactly which part is broken, so I don’t need to buy new EarPods — I only need to replace the adapter.

This is the adapter I use to connect my 3.5 mm EarPods to my phone, but it was damaged near the USB-C connector. I only realized this today, even though I was already thinking about buying new EarPods

Despite this, I still participated in my work meetings. The first meeting was in the morning, as usual, at 9:15. The second meeting was scheduled for 3 PM, but it was delayed by two hours and started at 5 PM. However during the second meeting, my colleagues and I were expecting good news about a thirteenth salary. The CEO talked about how the company earned a record amount of money — around 500 million rubles — which made us hopeful. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

If you’re wondering why we expected a thirteenth salary, I can explain. When I first started working at the company, they paid a thirteenth salary to all employees except those who had just joined. At that time, the company earned a record profit, so they decided to give extra money as a way to motivate employees.

I figured out about my old earpods. They weren't broken

Today my day started as usual. I woke up, did my morning routine, and started my work. But during the day I decided to check my old earpods again. When I connected it to my laptop, everything worked properly. But when I tried to use it with my phone, it worked for nothing. And in that time I figured out one thing about my type-c adapter. Because my phone doesn't have a 3.5m output for earpods. Therefore, I used type-c adapter to connect them with my phone. And main problem was with my type-c adapter. He was broken near the type-c connector. I noticed it randomly when I touched that place. Now I'm sure what place was broken, and I don't need to buy a new one.

Still, I participated in my work meetings. The first meet was in the morning, as usual at 9:15. The second meet was at 3 PM and it delayed two hours until 5 PM. From my second meeting, I waited pleasant news about the thirteenth salary. Because the CEO bragged about how they earned so much money (around 500 million rubles) in company history. So my colleagues and I hoped to get this salary. Unfortunately, it didn't happen.

And if you have some questions about why they should pay thirteen salaries. I think, I can explain it. When I first time sarted my work, the company paid thirteen salaries for everyone. But except for who only started work. In that time the company earned a record amount of money in total. Therefore, they decided to pay extra money and motivate employees.

1. Honest feedback (what to improve)
Overall:
- Your text is understandable
The main issues are:
- Articles (a / the)
- Prepositions
- Verb forms
- Some unnatural phrases (they sound translated)

Key corrections & explanations
1. Earpods part
- “I figured out about my old earpods.” → “I figured out what was wrong with my old EarPods.”
“Figure out about” is incorrect. Use figure out what / why / how

- “When I connected it to my laptop” → “When I connected them to my laptop”
EarPods = plural → them, not it

- “it worked for nothing” → “it didn’t work at all”
“Worked for nothing” is not natural in English

- “3.5m output” → “3.5 mm jack” or “3.5 mm audio jack”

- “He was broken near the type-c connector.” → “It was broken near the USB-C connector.”
Objects = it, not he

- “Now I'm sure what place was broken” → “Now I’m sure which part was broken”

2. Meetings & salary part
- “The first meet was in the morning” → “The first meeting was in the morning”
- Meet = verb
- Meeting = noun

- “it delayed two hours” → “it was delayed by two hours”
- “From my second meeting, I waited pleasant news” → “During the second meeting, I was expecting good news”
- “thirteenth salary” → “a thirteenth salary” or “a 13th salary”
- “why they should pay thirteen salaries” → “why they should pay a thirteenth salary”
- “When I first time sarted my work” → “When I first started working”
