Today I had a nice bike ride during the day, but something strange happened closer to night

It was a good idea to check the forecast and move my bike ride to immediately after lunch to avoid the thunderstorms. If I had waited a bit longer and planned a ride in the evening, I probably would have been caught in heavy rain or just barely missed it. Instead, I got to enjoy dry conditions on my new route and didn’t have to worry about the weather. By the time I was out riding, the sky was already starting to get a little cloudy, which confirmed that I had made the right decision.

After my bike ride, I just rested at home during the evening and didn’t go anywhere because everything was wet and the ground was slippery enough to make walking unpleasant. So while I was spending time behind my laptop, someone knocked on the door very loudly. I didn’t even realize what had happened at first—I just jumped out of my chair because it was so loud and scary. I immediately went to the door to check who the idiot was, but I didn’t see anybody there. I also looked outside through the window. The only person I saw was my neighbor. Although she hadn’t seen anyone either, she had heard the loud knock as well. A moment later, I noticed a strange, unfamiliar man quickly walking away from the area.
