Challenge, day 13. Even though the day was cloudy, the day was interesting and maybe a bit sad. But at least I got some satisfaction from the results of my calls
Everything happened when my uncle arrived at the traffic police office and tried to submit the documents. But the police officers didn’t accept them. Instead, they just declined and said that he needed to make an appointment. Of course, he was ready to make one, but it already wasn’t possible. All the available slots were occupied, and the next available appointment was only tomorrow at 5 PM. However, this arrangement wasn’t satisfactory, and we had only one option left: use the offline queue.
By the rules and laws, everyone has the full right to submit documents even without an appointment. But unfortunately, they flatly refused to accept them, and my uncle called me to ask what his next steps should be. Honestly, I had only one option: call a superior and describe the situation. Usually, it works, and they really try to help. I’d already had positive experiences with them before, so I was pretty sure I could handle this situation too.
First, I found the support number on the official website and tried to call it. But on my phone, the number showed up as a police department. At that moment, I wanted to cancel the call, but the girl answered so quickly with, “Hello, how can I help you?” that I was basically forced to respond. I quickly described our situation and explained the main details. After that, she gave me another short city number, and that was the one that finally helped me solve the issue.
My second phone conversation lasted about 4–5 minutes while I explained the same situation again from the first call. But this man asked me a few extra questions and kept trying to talk about making an appointment. To that, I responded, “Yeah, of course I agree with you, it’s a great thing, but right now I don’t have an opportunity to make an appointment, and by law I can use the offline queue. So what are my next steps? How can I submit the documents?” After hesitating for a few seconds and checking something on his computer, he finally responded, “Go to window 4.” There, an officer was already waiting to take the documents.
