My first workday was completely calm. I managed to resolve the issues with my blog’s Telegram integration and also ordered a few new books
I want to start this post by talking about yesterday and how I fixed the problems with my blog. In my previous post, I mentioned the Telegram integration issues, so here I’ll briefly explain what happened and why. But before that, I want to talk about my sleep. I went to bed at around 3 a.m. Until that moment, I was trying to figure out what was wrong. I didn’t want to leave the issue unresolved, and I was deeply involved in the process. Because of that, I simply couldn’t calm down and go to sleep. The problem kept pulling me back, and it wouldn’t let me rest.
This is the first book I’ve ever ordered to improve my English — “Fluent Forever.” I hope it helps me become fluent and stay that way for life. Photo found here
My second order: a set of eight Harry Potter books. I’ve never read the Russian version, so I want to finish the entire series this year. Photo found here
Honestly, I still don’t fully understand why the issue happened, and I can’t clearly explain the root cause. However, I do want to describe how I fixed it and share a bit of my work process. During my work, I tried many different solutions that I found through Google searches and ChatGPT. To be honest, I don’t even remember which exact suggestion ended up working. Some approaches didn’t help at all, and a few of them even caused more problems than before. Fortunately, I eventually found two steps that solved everything.
First, I moved my Telegram configuration files into a dedicated directory and changed the function that retrieves the token and chat ID from env() to config(). Second, I cleared Laravel’s configuration cache using sudo. After that, everything started working as expected. The error message disappeared, and the Telegram integration began working perfectly.
Now, a little bit about my day. It was calm and productive, even though it was the first workday. Since my team lead is on vacation, no one disturbed me. I worked at my own pace, without rush or stress. After work, I finally decided to order new English books. The first one is called Fluent Forever, a book about how to learn any language quickly and retain it long-term. I heard about it on YouTube, where someone described it as both interesting and useful. The second purchase is a set of eight Harry Potter books. I’ve already written here about my desire to buy them. The only downside is the delivery time—it will take more than a month, and I’m not completely sure about the quality of the books I’ll receive.
This post I want to start about yesterday and how I fixed my blog issues. In my previous post, I shared my Telegram integration issues. So, I need to explain shortly, what and why it happened. But first I wish to share about my sleep time. Because I was able to go to bed around 3 AM, until that time I just tried to figure it out. I also didn't want to leave those issues without my attention. I was very involved in the process and couldn't go to bed. It just didn't bring me calm and didn't let me go.
Honestly, I have no idea why it happened, and I can't explain it. However, I want to describe how I fixed it and some processes from my work. Well, during my work, I tried so many cases from Google search and from ChatGPT. Honestly, I already don't remember which case (Google search or ChatGPT) worked for me. But some cases completely didn't work for me, or they brought me more troubles than usual. Fortunately, I found two cases that helped me. First, I moved my Telegram configs to a special directory and changed the function to retrieve the token and chat id, from env() to config(). Second, I just cleaned my Laravel config caches using sudo. Then everything started working. The error message disappeared, and Telegram integration is working pretty well.
Now, a little bit about my day. My day was calm and productive, even though it was the first workday. Because my team lead went on vacation, nobody bothered me. I just worked on my speed without rush and headache. After my work, I finally decided to order new English books. The first book is called "Fluent Forever". Book about how to learn any language fast and never forget it. I knew about that book from YouTube. Someone talked about this interesting and useful book. The second book is a pack of eight Harry Potter books. About it, I wrote here how I want to buy it. But the delivery time is more than a month, and I'm not sure what quality books I'll receive.
- The story is clear and logical. I always understand what happened and in what order.
- Your tone is personal and reflective, which is perfect for a blog.
- You explain the technical fix simply, without overloading details.
- Good use of linking to a previous post (“In my previous post, I shared…”).
Main issues to improve
Verb tense consistency
You mix past simple and present sometimes:
- “This post I want to start…” → should be past or planned future.
- Since it’s about yesterday, past simple should dominate.
Word choice (small but important)
Some phrases sound understandable but not natural:
- “figured out issues” → better: figured out the issues / resolved the issues
- “didn’t let me go” → understandable, but sounds poetic in a slightly non-English way
- “some processes from my work” → better: some details of my work process
Sentence length
Some sentences are too long and heavy, especially emotional ones about sleep and stress. Native writers would usually split them.
Repetition
You repeat ideas like:
- being very involved
- trying many solutions
This is okay, but it can be tighter.
Overall level: solid B+, very readable, but with clear room to sound more fluent and confident.
