Finished the Sixth Harry Potter Book — The Half-Blood Prince

Today, my main goal was to finish Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and rewatch the movie during the day. Luckily, it wasn't as challenging as my previous experience, since this book was only 542 pages. I started reading it on September 5–6, and I managed to finish it today, so it took me only 9 days to read the whole book, which is pretty fast for me. During these days, I usually read around 50–70 pages, or about 3–4 chapters, every day.

Overall, I've only positive feelings about this reading experience, and I don't have any regrets about spending 4–5 hours reading every day. In fact, I'm honestly proud of myself because I finally made it to the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It feels great to know that I'm now so close to finishing the whole series.

As usual, below are some of the main and most interesting differences I noticed while reading the book. I also compared them with the movie while watching it, which helped me understand the differences much better.

• Tonks found Harry on the train after Malfoy had paralyzed him
• Bellatrix Lestrange questioned Snape about his loyalty to Voldemort
• Dumbledore showed Harry memories of Voldemort's parents and family
• Ron's birthday and the poisoned mead incident
• Mr. and Mrs. Weasley visited Ron in the hospital after poisoned
• Ron's relationship with Lavender was different from the way it was shown in the movie
• The memory of Voldemort asking Dumbledore for the Defence Against the Dark Arts job
• The old house-elf Hokey's memories about Voldemort were left out of the movie
• Lucius Malfoy was in Azkaban, which was mentioned more clearly in the book
• Harry missed the Great Hall scene in the book
• After the holidays, they used the Floo Network to return to Hogwarts
• When Harry fought Malfoy, Snape discovered Harry's Potions book
• When Harry returned to his dormitory after getting Slughorn's memory, he couldn't get in because the password had been changed
• When Snape killed Dumbledore, Harry was hiding under the Invisibility Cloak
• Tonks and Lupin's relationship
• Harry decided that he would not return to Hogwarts for his seventh year
• Harry, Ron, and Hermione discussed their plans to search for the Horcruxes
• Harry broke up with Ginny before the final battle because he didn't want Voldemort to use her against him
• Dumbledore's funeral is completely missing from the movie
