I spent my short workday as usual, but I already knew things at work weren’t going well

Yesterday I mentioned our company meeting, and now I want to share some updates from it. Unfortunately, the news turned out to be pretty disappointing. Our financial director told us that the monthly targets were nowhere near complete. The company earned only 70 million rubles instead of the expected 123 million, and April ended up being a very unprofitable month. On top of that, our CEO said salaries will most likely be reduced because the company can’t continue operating under the current conditions, especially with how difficult the economic situation in the country has become.

Fresh photo from today’s walk, taken from my viewpoint up on the hill. Since my workday was pretty short, I decided to head out a bit earlier than usual. It turned out to be a really nice experience and a good opportunity

Right now, I only have one realistic plan. As long as I can keep my job, I’ll continue working. But if they eventually decide to reduce staff, then there’s nothing I can really do to avoid it. If that happens, I’m ready to accept it, although I’ll need some financial support for at least the next two or three months while figuring out what comes next.

I also have to seriously think about the possible salary cuts, because if they reduce it much more, continuing to work there may simply stop making sense. And honestly, if it reaches that point, I’d rather take a long break and spend those months improving my English every single day. Right now, that feels like the smartest investment I can make in myself instead of staying stuck in a Russian company and trying to earn rubles while the economy and the overall situation in the country continue getting worse. I’d rather focus on personal growth and prepare myself for better opportunities in the future.

I spent my short workday as usual, but I knew some news that things aren't going well at my work

Yesterday I already mentioned our work meeting, so I'd like to keep going and share some updates from the meeting. Sadly the updates are a bit disappointing and unpleasant, as much as I don't want to hear them. Our financial director informed us that the monthly plan wasn't complete at all. The company earned only 70 million rubles instead of 123 million, and the month of April was very unprofitable. Our CEO also added that our salary will be reduced because the company can't continue work in the current circumstances and the economic situation in the country is extremely difficult.

Right now I only have one plan about this situation. While I can keep my work, I'll be working. However, if they decide to reduce the staff, it can't be avoided. If that happens, I'm ready to accept it, but I need extra salary support for the next two to three months.

I also need to think about salary reduction, because they can reduce it a bit more, and then it can be unreasonable to continue working there. Well, if it happens, I just want to take a long break and, during the months, improve my English each day. I think it's the best idea for me right now, instead of spending the time in a Russian company and trying to earn rubles. Because the Russian economy and common situation inside the country are getting worse day by day. So rather focus on improving myself and try to prepare for better opportunities in the future.
