Today was the twenty-first day of Ramadan. I arrived in Moscow, and I have only positive feelings so far
Today I started my business trip to Moscow, and everything is going well. Yesterday I mentioned that I didn’t really want to go. That feeling was related to my unsuccessful day yesterday, but today everything turned out differently. I woke up feeling calm and surprisingly positive about the trip. The weather was also awesome. The temperature was warm, the sky was clear, and overall it felt like a real spring day. When I arrived in Moscow and left the airport, I noticed that the temperature there was also around +11 degrees.
Nothing unusual happened today, except for some of my own stupid mistakes. Why do I call them stupid? Because I didn’t check the route to my hotel in advance. I thought I would figure it out on the way, but I was wrong. Honestly, I wanted to take a taxi right away, but I couldn’t find the taxi pickup area at Sheremetyevo Airport. I saw many taxi cars, but I couldn’t find mine, and the driver didn’t respond to my messages. I had ordered the taxi through the Yandex Go app. The ride was supposed to cost around 1100 rubles, about $14. As a result, I still had to pay a cancellation fee of about 570 rubles, around $7.
After that, I decided to try taking a bus, but that also turned out to be challenging. I tried to use Google Maps, but it wasn’t working. It only showed an error message. So I got on a random bus and asked the driver, “Can I get to any metro station with this bus?” My plan was simple: if I could reach a metro station, I could check my route there. I thought Google Maps was only not working at the airport.
However, when I arrived at Belomorskaya metro station, Google Maps still showed nothing. At that moment I felt quite disappointed, but interestingly I didn’t lose my enthusiasm for the trip. On the contrary, I became even more engaged in the experience.
Since I was stuck at Belomorskaya station, I ordered another taxi. This time it worked. The driver arrived on the opposite side of the road, but it wasn’t a big problem. I just walked across to the other side and then we drove to my hotel. Now I’m in my single hotel room. I arrived at around 7:30 pm. The trip from the airport took about two hours, maybe a little more, mainly because of Moscow traffic and the slow bus ride. In total, my trip from the airport to the hotel cost about 1300 rubles, which is roughly $17.
Today was the twenty-first day of Ramadan. I arrived in Moscow, and I have only positive feelings
Today I started my business trip to Moscow, and while everything is okay. I say it because yesterday I shared that I didn't want to go. It was related to my unsuccessful day, and today everything turned out a bit different. I woke up feeling something positive and calm about my trip. Even though the weather was just awesome. The temperature was very warm, and the sky was clear, generally, it was a real spring day. In Moscow the temperature also was +11 degrees, I noticed it after leaving the airport.
While nothing unusual happened, except my stupidities. Why stupidities? Because I didn't check the road, I need to go to my hotel, so I was dumb. I thought I could realize it on time, but I was wrong. Honestly, I wanted to take a taxi and go, but I couldn't find the taxi pickup area at the airport (SVO). I saw other taxi cars, but I couldn't find mine, and that driver didn't respond to mesages. I ordered via the special app Yandex Go, it was around 1100 rubles, or $14. As a result, I just missed paying half the price of the fine, around 570 rubles, or $7.
Then I decided to try to take the bus, but it also was challenging for me. I tried to use my Google Maps, and nothing is working. There I saw only an error message. So, I just took one random bus and asked from driver, "Can I go to any metro station" I thought if I could go to the metro station, I could check my route. I thought my Google Maps wasn't working only at the airport. But when I reached the metro station (Belomorskaya), my Google Map also showed me nothing. In that time it disappointed me properly, but I didn't lose my interest in my trip. On the contrary, I was involved in my trip much more strongly.
After that unsuccessful situation, while I was stuck at Belomorskaya metro station, I ordered a new taxi, and it was successful. But the driver arrived on the wrong roadside, but it was not so critical for me, I just walked to another side and drove to my hotel. Now I'm in my single hotel room, I arrived around 7:30 pm. I spent approximately 2 hours, maybe more, except Moscow traffic jams and the bus wasn't fast. For my trip from the airport to my hotel, I paid 1300 rubles, or $17.
