How one letter changed everything, my funny geography mistake

In one of my posts, i wrote that I met someone who lives in another country. Well, it's a girl my age, a bit younger than me. Today, when we were texting, i know which city she is from, and i was shocked.
All this time, she was saying the name of her country in Tatar, and i automatically thought she was from Albania. I never asked about the city because the difference between "Almania" (Germany) and "Albania" is just one letter.
Damn, i guess i need to learn Tatar.
