Today is the fifteenth day of Ramadan, and I had another small crisis with my Duolingo streak

Yesterday I almost lost it. I missed my lesson again and received my second warning. The situation was very typical: I fell asleep, and when I woke up, it was already too late. I opened my phone and realized that the day had already ended. The most frustrating part is that I only needed three minutes. Three minutes would have been enough to complete a quick lesson and protect my streak.

Now I only have two streak freezes left. If I miss one more day, I could lose everything — a streak of about 1,939 days. I started it in 2020, and it represents years of small daily efforts. Losing it would feel like losing a small piece of my past discipline.

This situation reminded me of an interesting moment at work. A few months ago, during one of our monthly meetings, a colleague from another department proudly announced that he had reached a 400-day Duolingo streak. He even prepared a slide to show it. He spoke about it with so much enthusiasm that everyone smiled.

At that moment, I realized something funny: my streak was already much longer than his. But I decided not to say anything. I didn’t want to turn his moment into a comparison. Honestly, I was just happy for him. Reaching 400 days still requires discipline, and maybe it helped him improve his English as well.

The rest of the day was also a bit unusual. I woke up extremely late and had only two minutes before my morning meeting started. Even for me, that felt uncomfortable. I prefer to start my workday calmly, not in a rush. Later we had our monthly company meeting. The results were actually very good — the company earned about 126 million rubles last month and even exceeded the plan. However, the CEO seemed a bit irritated during the meeting and interrupted employees several times while they were speaking.

Overall, it was a strange day: a near disaster with my Duolingo streak, a rushed morning, and a tense meeting at work. But at least the streak is still alive — for now.

Today is the fifteenth day of Ramadan. I made the same mistake and I have broken my streak again

A terrible situation happened with my Duolingo lesson. Yesterday I missed my lesson again, and I got my second warning. It happened as usual, I fell asleep, and when I woke up, the time was wasted. But this time I just didn't have a few minutes, because I woke up at midnight. If I had three minutes, I could easily finish one small lesson and keep my streak. Unfortunately, now, I have two frozen days. If I miss still one day, I can lose my streak. It's about 1939 days, I really don't want to lose it. Because it's my effort from my past, and I've kept it for a long time since 2020.

I also recall one interesting story related to Duolingo at my work. It happened a few months ago, maybe even last year. During our monthly meeting, my colleague from another department bragged about reaching four hundred streak. He told about it so interestingly, even though he prepared a special slide for it. But he didn't know about my Duolingo streak, and I decided not to tell him about it and made him sad. Honestly, I was happy for him, because he could reach his streak, and maybe he developed some English skills too.

My day was a bit unusual. I woke up extremely late, until my morning meeting, I had two minutes. Even for me it was so uncomfortable, and I regretted it. Next time I need to wake up earlier, because I want to begin my workday as it should be. I also had our monthly meeting and listened to the month's results. Last month the company earned about 126 million rubles. They completed their monthly plan and even exceeded it. But the CEO was a bit irritable, and during the meeting he interrupted employees and made comments.
