Today was my first workday of the year, and it felt like a normal day
I woke up twice. The first time was around 7:00 a.m., which felt a bit too early for me, so I decided to go back to sleep. Then I woke up again at 8:20 a.m. This was already a little late, but not critical. I knew I still had enough time to complete my morning routine without any problems.
After I woke up, I stayed in bed for about ten minutes and checked my phone. Around 8:30, I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to do my morning routine. By the time I finished brushing my teeth and washing my face, it was around 8:45, which left me about fifteen minutes for breakfast.
For breakfast, I ate two pieces of pie that were left from the Quran recitation gathering on January 10, some fruit (oranges and grapes), and drank water. While eating, I started watching Good Morning America. Of course, I couldn’t finish the episode in fifteen minutes, even though it was only about thirty minutes long, so I continued listening to it while getting ready for my morning meeting.
My morning meeting at work was calm and simple and lasted about fifteen minutes. Nothing special happened. We mostly recalled our last tasks from the previous year and greeted each other at the beginning of the new workweek. Some people immediately started discussing work tasks and getting involved in the workflow, but I decided to ease into work more quietly during the day. So, I turned on a YouTube podcast and listened to it in the background.
Until lunch, I calmly organized my tasks while listening to podcasts and videos. I watched content about politicians, including Trump and JD Vance, from the official White House YouTube channel. In both videos, journalists actively asked questions about an incident in which an ICE agent killed a woman. They also discussed Venezuela and Greenland.
For lunch, I ate buckwheat with sausage and kazylyk (horse meat sausage), along with some vegetables—tomatoes and cucumbers. For dessert, I had two small pieces of cake, each a different kind. While eating, I watched two videos about farms: one about New Year trees and another about a snowstorm. I finished lunch by reading chapter five of Alice in Wonderland, “Advice from a Caterpillar.”
During the second part of the day, I focused fully on work, although I continued listening to YouTube in the background. This time, I watched a video about an old car, the Land Rover Discovery 1, which lasted about half an hour. After that, I listened to long videos about Elon Musk and U.S. One was about two hours long, and the other lasted around an hour and a half. I also took a short break at 3:00 p.m. and had a small snack. By the end of the workday, I completed my tasks and wrote a short report.
After work, around 6:00 p.m., I had dinner while watching more YouTube videos, continuing with content about farms. For dinner, I ate mashed potatoes with kazylyk, green onions, and some vegetables. After that, I went to the bedroom and relaxed for about two hours. I watched YouTube Shorts and read posts on Telegram, mostly news-related. Later, I practiced my speaking and pronunciation using a video, and this continued until it was time for my walk.
At 8:30 p.m., I went for a walk and followed the same route as yesterday. The walk was very similar: the city streets were empty, calm, and comfortable. I saw a few skiers in the park. Along the embankment, there were several parked cars, and I noticed one man walking quickly toward the city center. The weather was slightly snowy, with no wind, and the temperature was around –4 degrees. It was a very comfortable walk, and I finished it at 10:00 p.m.
When I got home, I spent some time with my family at the table. We talked about the day’s concerns and a few other topics—nothing special. Before starting my evening routine, I also completed a small freelance task that I had received earlier in the day.
Today I woke up twice. The first time it was around 7 AM and this time was a bit early for me. So I decided to continue my sleep. Then at 8:20 AM I woke up again. This time already was a bit late but not so critical. Because I knew this time was enough for me, I could finish my morning routine on time. After woke up I kept lying approximately 10 minutes and checked my phone. I got out from my bed around 8:30 and went to bathroom did my morning routine. While I brushed my teeth and washed my face the time was around 8:45 AM. And I had fifteen minutes for my breakfast.
For my breakfast I ate two pieces of pie from the Quran recitation gathering on January 10, some fruit (oranges and grapes), and drank all of them with water. And during my breakfast I started watching my show "Good Morning America". Of course I couldn't finish it around fifteen minutes, even it was only thirty minutes. Therefore, I continued listening it while preparing for my morning meeting.
My morning meeting at my work was simple and quiet, and it continued for fifteen minutes. There wasn't something special. We just recall our last tasks from last year and greet each other with new workweek of this year. But someone already started discussing about work tasks and was involved into work processes. However, I decided to quietly pull into work processes during the day. So I decided to turn on my next YouTube podcast and listen it in the background.
Until lunch I quietly sorted out my task and kept listening to YouTube podcasts and videos. I listened videos about politicians, Trump, and JD Vance from the official YouTube channel of the White House. In both videos, the journalists actively asked about the situation where an ICE agent killed a woman. Also they didn't forget about Venezuela and Greenland.
For my lunch I ate buckwheat with sausage and kazylyk (it's horse meat sausage). Plus some vegetables, tomatoes, and cucumber. For dessert I ate two small pieces of cake. They were different. I also watched two videos from YouTube about christmas farm. First one was about the New Year tree. Next one about the snowstorm. And I finished my lunch with my book Alice in Wonderland. I read chapter five, "Advice from a Caterpillar."
Second part of the day, I fully provided for my work. But I also listened in the background videos from YouTube. In this turn I listened about the old car, Land Rover Discovery 1. This video was not so long, it took around half an hour. After I listened video about Elon Musk and about the US. These last videos were pretty long. First one was approximately two hours, second one was one hour and thirty minutes. I also didn't forget about break time at 3 PM and had a small mealtime with goodies. Of course I didn't forget about my work tasks. I finished my task and wrote a mini report.
After work, around 6 PM I had dinner and during the dinner I watched videos from YouTube. In this turn I continued watching videos about farms. For dinner I ate mashed potatoes with kazylyk, green onions, and some vegetables. After dinner I walked to the bedroom and just relaxed for around two hours. I watched YouTube Shorts and read some interesting channels from Telegram, usually about the news. But after I practiced my speaking and pronunciation skills with this video. It continued until my walk. At 8:30 PM I went for a walk and repeated my previous path from yesterday.
My walk was very like yesterday's. City streets empty, calm, and comfortable. During my walk I saw few skiers in the park. Near along the embankment, I saw a few parked cars and one guy quickly walked toward to city center. Also, the weather is a bit snowy, without the wind and the temperature is -4 degrees. It was a very comfortable walk for me and I finished it at 10 PM.
When I arrived at home, I spent some time with my family behind the table. We discussed about the day's worries and another topic. Nothing special. And before my evening routine, I finished one simple freelance task. This task I got today, during the day.
What’s good:
- Very clear timeline — easy to follow your day
- Good vocabulary range (routine, gathering, embankment, background, freelance task)
- You can write long texts without getting lost — this is not easy
- You already think in English, not word-by-word translation
So overall: this is good writing, not beginner-level at all.
2. Main problems (important)
Verb forms & sentence structure:
- Missing articles (a / the)
- Wrong verb forms
- Too many short or repetitive sentence patterns
Examples:
- After woke up I kept lying After I woke up, I lay in bed
- went to bathroom → went to the bathroom
- listening it → listening to it
3. Unnatural phrases (this is the biggest issue)
You often use phrases that are understandable but not natural:
- continue my sleep → go back to sleep
- pull into work processes → get into work
- listened videos → watched video
- listening it in the background → listening to it in the background
This is normal for learners — but this is where you should focus now
4. Too much repetition:
- “YouTube”
- “videos”
- “in this turn”
- “around”
Native writing would vary the structure more
