Early in the morning on September 8, I left the hotel around 5 AM, when the city was still asleep. It was dark and quiet outside, giving a special atmosphere to morning Paris. I walked through the empty and unlit streets to the nearest metro station, which took about 15 minutes. I went down, got on the train, and traveled to Orly Airport.
At the airport, I had a flight to Italy, to the city of Rome. The customs check was quite thorough: they asked me if I had any electronic devices or liquids. If I had liquids, I had to put them in special bags they gave me. I had never seen such attention to detail before; they checked every pocket of my backpack, which surprised me a little, but everything went fine.
After passing through customs, I found my boarding gate and started waiting. I flew with Wizz Air on flight W46062 on an A321neo (A21N) airplane. I was lucky to get a seat next to the emergency exits, where there was enough legroom, which made the flight comfortable. I got this seat because I checked in at the last moment when such seats were still available.
Finally, the plane take off, and after a few hours, we landed safely in Rome around noon. The city welcomed me with a hot sunny day, with temperatures around 28-30 celsius. I bought a ticket to the city for 12 euros and, after waiting in a long line for the bus, I finally got on and headed to the center. My first impressions of Rome were a bit mixed: on one hand, I felt the ancient atmosphere filled with history, creating a strange but attractive feeling. Everywhere I looked, there were old architectural buildings, each impressive in its own way.
In one day, I managed to see the main attractions, and the most important one was the Colosseum. It amazed me with its size and historical significance. After the Colosseum, I visited the Roman Forum, where every corner seemed to breathe history. Walking through its ruins, I could see the remains of ancient temples, basilicas, and arches that used to be the heart of political and public life in Rome. Then I took a stroll through the narrow streets of the city, where every wall and stone holds memories of a great past. Rome charms with its architecture and atmosphere, where ancient times blend harmoniously with modern life. In the evening, I walked along the Tiber River and visited the famous Piazza Navona, where street artists and musicians create a special atmosphere. This day gave me unforgettable impressions and a full immersion in the spirit of ancient Rome.
During my trip, I stayed at a three-star hotel, which cost me 55 euros per night with a discount, without the discount, the price was 130 euros. I booked through booking.com and somehow managed to get such a good discount. The price included breakfast and bathroom amenities. The room was small but comfortable, and cleanliness was top-notch. The hotel was located near Bologna metro station, making it easy to get to any point in the city.
