Finished the fourth part of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
This book was a bit challenging, as it has 617 pages and 200 thousand words. I spent approximately 3 hours each day to finish 3 chapters, and I digested each word through my mouth. Also, during the process, I had some challenging feelings, as all the pages of this book were written with a small font size and had difficult meanings and expressions to understand. But luckily, I didn't lose my motivation and interest in my book, which helped me finish it. Overall, it's my new record for reading English books and probably a new step in my English journey.
As usual, after reading, I downloaded the 64 GB high-quality Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie and rewatched it for two hours non-stop. Because after each previous part, I did the same thing and rewatched the movies, as I compared the differences between the movie and the book. This should help me understand the parts that I couldn't fully realize during the reading process.
While watching the movie, I remembered some of the most common and interesting differences from the book and compared them as I watched. Some of those moments were completely skipped from the movie, while others were changed and replaced with different scenes, especially the ones I noticed from the very first chapters.
- When Mr. Weasley's family came to pick Harry up for the Quidditch World Cup. In the book, they used the fireplace and Floo Powder to travel to Harry's uncle's house, but they got stuck in the chimney. This was completely absent from the movie.
- When Harry had to complete the second task, the house elf Dobby gave him the special plant gillyweed, which was stolen from Snape's private stores. In the movie, Neville Longbottom gave Harry the gillyweed instead.
- Hermione's S.P.E.W. campaign, when she tried to start a movement to fight for house elves' rights. This was completely absent from the movie.
- Dobby and the Hogwarts kitchen, where Dobby and the other house elves worked, and the details about how much they were paid. This was also completely absent from the movie.
- Winky, who was connected to Barty Crouch Jr. and the mystery surrounding the Crouch family. She was completely absent from the movie.
