I had a calm, sunny walk by the river today and caught what felt like the last traces of the spring flooding
When I woke up, though, it didn’t look promising at all—the sky was completely covered in clouds, the roads were still wet from earlier rain, and it just seemed like one of those dull, rainy days. But that guess didn’t hold for long. By the time it got closer to lunch, the weather shifted almost unexpectedly—the clouds disappeared, the sky turned a clear blue, and sunlight gradually filled the streets, making everything feel brighter and more alive. That change alone lifted my mood and made the second half of the day feel much more positive.
During my break, I went for a short walk, maybe fifteen or twenty minutes, along the river embankment I mentioned before. The contrast compared to April 4 was striking—back then, everything was still covered in snow, the river had no ice but the water level was much lower. While I was in Japan, my relatives told me the river had already started to fill up with spring flooding, and seeing it now, I can confirm it’s still noticeably higher than before. Even if I was a bit late to catch the peak, it still felt like I witnessed the final moments of that seasonal change.
I had my calm, sunny walk through the river and saw the last moments of spring flooding
Today after I woke up, I noticed that the sky was covered with clouds, and I didn't have any reason for good weather. Even if it rained a little bit before I woke up, it made the roads wet. In that time, while I looked out through the window, I just thought that another rainy day had started. But my prediction about the rain was wrong. Closer to lunch, the weather became much better, and the clouds magically vanished during the short time. Also, the sky became a clear blue, and the sunlight slowly filled the streets, making everything look brighter and more alive. Of course the sunny day was much better and made for a positive mood during the second part of the day that provided me the opportunity to go for a walk during my break.
My walk during my break wasn't long, it continued for around fifteen to twenty minutes total. I just walk around along the embankment near the river that I shared in this post. That time I visited this place on April 4 and everything was in the snow, the river had no ice, and the water level was much lower. Later, while I visited Japan, I got some messages from my relatives that the river was already filled up and spring flooding started. Fortunately, to this day the water level is still higher than before, and I can say that I saw spring flooding, even though it was a bit late.
