A ridiculous thing happened to me this morning, but yesterday brought a pleasant surprise
Yesterday I noticed a small but surprisingly meaningful moment in my blog’s metrics—something I forgot to mention at the time. It honestly caught me off guard in the best way and even made me smile. I hadn’t really expected that someone from another city would be reading my posts in Russian. That felt different. Of course, I’ve seen readers from other countries engaging with my English posts before, but this was the first time I became aware of a local reader. The metrics didn’t reveal anything more about this mystery visitor, but even that tiny hint was enough to make my day. It felt like a quiet confirmation that I’m on the right path and that what I’m writing actually reaches someone.
I captured that moment in the metrics system’s session recordings—he was reading my post about my VPN and some work issues
This morning, though, was a bit ridiculous in comparison. I woke up earlier than usual—around 7:40—but somehow convinced myself it was already close to 9. I went through my routine, had breakfast, and was ready to start work, but something felt off. The work chat was completely silent, which made no sense because by 9 it’s usually already buzzing. I even almost typed “Where is everyone?” before stopping myself. Good thing I did—because a quick check reminded me it was only 8 AM. So yeah, I nearly exposed myself for living an hour ahead of reality. Not my finest moment, but definitely a funny one.
One ridiculous story happened to me this morning, and I noticed another pleasant thing yesterday
Still, yesterday I noticed one unusual moment on my blog's metric system, but I forgot to share it. So now I need to begin this post since that interesting story. To be honest, it surprised me properly, and even on my face appeared a smile. Because I didn't have any hopes that someone from another city read my posts in Russian. Of course it was very pleasant to me, because someone was curious about my posts and even about my life. If I think much more deeply, before I already saw how my followers and visitors read my posts in English from foreign countries. But this situation happened the first time that I noticed. Also, the metric system didn't detect more information about that mystery user, who put pleasant thoughts and a smile on my face. Definitely it was a positive sign that my blog was interesting for someone, and I took the right way with my blog.
However, today another ridiculous thing happened during my morning. I woke up a bit early as usual, it was around 7:40 AM, but while I did my morning routine, I thought the time was already closer to 9 AM. So after my breakfast I wanted to start my workday, but I felt something unusual. Because nobody sent messages to our work chat, everything was calm. As usual at 9 AM, our chat was already filled up with messages, and it let me know that something was wrong. In that time I already wanted to text message, "Where is all?" Fortunately, I didn't text that message, and it saved me from embarrassment. Because, while I checked my tasks, I figured out that the time was still 8 AM.
