I finally arrived in Seoul, South Korea, and surprisingly, it felt familiar to me
My alarm went off at 4:20 AM and, surprisingly, I actually got up on time. I was in that deep, cozy kind of sleep where your bed feels impossibly warm and you really don’t want to leave it. But the moment I got up, the cold, crisp air coming through the window hit me right away. Not exactly pleasant, but definitely effective—it woke me up fast and got me moving as I packed my backpack. Luckily, everything went according to plan timing-wise. The only hiccup was in Japan’s metro system—I got a bit lost for about fifteen minutes, especially around the airport line. Nothing major though, and in the end I made it to Narita Airport without any real issues. My flight landed in Seoul at 1 PM.
My first day in Seoul was pretty short. I mostly just walked around my neighborhood, exploring a few nearby streets. I didn’t have any specific plans, but I still came across some interesting spots—cafés, small shops, and different local places. To be honest, I expected South Korea to feel quite different from Japan, but my first impression is that it’s a bit more low-key than I imagined. I already noticed that at the airport. Even though I could easily pay for my airport bus with a debit card—which is great—everything just feels very straightforward and convenient. In a way, that simplicity actually makes traveling here feel a lot more comfortable.
I finally arriveed in South Korea, Seoul and surprisingly it felt familiar to me
My alarm clock rang at 4:20 AM and woke me up on time. That time I especially deeply slept and didn't want to get up from my bed. Because it was the most enjoyable time that I slept on my warm bed. But when I got up from the bed, the cold and fresh air from my window surrounded me. Of course it wasn't pleasant, but it was efficient to wake up faster and prepare my backpack to leave. Fortunately I didn't have any problems with my planning time, but I have some problems with Japan's metro stations. Nothing serious; I just got lost about fifteen minutes in the metro station, especially at the airport line, but as a result I successfully arrived at Narita airport. And my flight landed in Seoul at 1 PM.
My day in Seoul wasn't long. Today I walked around my neighborhood and discovered some streets. Even though I do not have a special plan, I already found some interesting streets with cafes, shops, and other establishments. Honestly, I thought that South Korea would greet me with another atmosphere like Japan, but in my first opinion, it feels a bit simple. I noticed it at the airport. Even though I have the opportunity to pay with my debit card for my bus from the airport to the city, and it's already cool, some things are very convenient and easy to use, which makes traveling a bit more comfortable.
