Today marked my final wander through the streets of Tokyo, wrapping up everything I had planned—and a few things I hadn’t

The day started with a small but annoying reality check: I was basically out of cash. When I checked my wallet before heading out, all I had left was a single thousand-yen note and some loose coins, adding up to roughly three hundred yen. Not exactly ideal, especially considering I still needed money for the airport and whatever the day might bring. Technically, I had USD and EUR on me, but I really didn’t want to touch it. Still, I had no choice in the end and reluctantly broke a fifty-euro note just to keep things moving.

Akihabara Electric Town, while crossing the street

I honestly don’t get why bank cards still aren’t universally accepted—it feels so outdated. Carrying around coins all day is exhausting, and at this point, I’m completely over it. For me, that’s probably one of the biggest downsides of Japan (and a few other Asian countries too). It’s a small thing, but when you deal with it constantly, it really adds up.

That said, the day itself couldn’t have been better. It was sunny, warm—around twenty-six degrees—and for the first time this year, it actually felt like summer. I went out in a T-shirt and shorts, just walking and soaking everything in, enjoying the atmosphere without rushing anywhere. I did manage to get a bit of sunburn on my nose, forehead, and ears, so now my face is slightly red, but nothing too serious. Hopefully, it’ll fade in a couple of days.

I also managed to complete all the places I had planned yesterday—and even added a few unexpected stops along the way. That’s the best part about just walking with no strict route: you stumble upon places you never planned to see. It happened a lot today. Yesterday, I mentioned wanting to visit Akihabara Electric Town, Asakusa, and Tokyo Tower, but I realized I had already been to Asakusa when I visited Senso-ji the day before, so I skipped it this time. Overall, it felt like the perfect way to end my time in Tokyo—unplanned moments, good weather, and just the freedom to explore.

Today I had my last walk around Tokyo streets and finished my last plans that I planned.

This morning I discovered that I spent all my cash, and I had only one thousand banknotes and some coins in my pockets, totaling around three hundred yen. I understood it when I checked my wallet and counted them while I wanted to leave my place. In reality, even this money wasn't enough  to go to the airport, and plus I had other plans during the day, so it was a complete failure. Of course I have cash in USD and EUR, but I really didn't want to spend it. But unfortunately, I didn't have any options, so I sacrificed my fifty euro banknotes.

I really don't understand why they can't use bank carts, it's so stupid. I already tired carrying coins in my pockets, it's just terrible. And it's the main minus in Japan and other Asian countries.

However, the day was just perfect and sunny. The temperature was around twenty-six degrees, which made my day with t-shirts and shorts. It was my first summer day this year when I wore t-shirts and went for a walk and enjoyed the sunny day. Even though I got sunburn around my nose, forehead, and ears. Now my face is slightly red, but it's not scary. I hope after a few days everything should be okay.

And today I also completed my planned places from yesterday. Even I visited some unplanned places too. Because when you're just walking, you can meet other interesting places. So today especially it happened with me. However, yesterday I mentioned that I want to visit Akihabara Electric Town, Asakusa, and Tokyo Tower.  But I didn't understand why I wrote about Asakusa, because yesterday I already visited that place, which I called Senso-ji. So today I skipped that place. Overall, it was just a perfect day to end my day in Tokyo.
