Today was the nineteenth day of Ramadan, and it turned out to be quite an interesting day
First of all, the weather has been extremely cold during the last few days. I even received a warning message from emergency services saying that the temperature could drop to −35°C. Honestly, that sounds crazy to me. I have never seen −35°C in March before. It feels very unusual.
I clearly remember that one year ago, when I was leaving Russia around this time, the weather was already warm. I was wearing light clothes and walking comfortably outside. The snow was melting quickly and spring was already in the air. But this year it feels completely different. Winter still feels strong and doesn’t seem ready to leave. That surprised me and honestly made me a bit sad, because spring should already be close.
Even though today was my day off, the day was quite busy for my family. They decided to invite some close relatives and organize an iftar with an abystay — a respected woman who can read the Quran and give sermons. My family prepared the table, cooked food for the guests, moved furniture, and arranged everything in the house. Interestingly, I wasn’t really involved in that process. They handled everything themselves, which was actually convenient for me. I just followed my usual routine on my computer and finished a small freelance project.
Another small but important thing happened today. I finally received a transparent box for my old HDD. I had been keeping this hard drive without any protection for almost a year, and I was always a little worried that I might damage it. Luckily nothing bad happened. The box cost about $8. I intentionally chose the cheapest option because I only needed something simple to store the drive safely. I didn’t study the specifications very carefully. I just checked the reviews, looked at the ratings, and chose the fastest delivery.
When I tried to put the HDD inside the box and close the lid, I noticed it was a little tight and not very easy to close. It caused some minor problems, but honestly it’s not a big deal because I won’t open it very often. Overall, I like it. The box works well and even looks a bit unusual.
The evening turned out to be the most special part of the day. Our relatives gathered together, and we spent several hours talking, laughing, and sharing different stories. We sat around the table, enjoyed the food, and listened to the sermons from the abystay. The atmosphere felt warm and peaceful. From time to time someone would share news or remember an old story from the past, and everyone else listened with interest. Moments like this feel very meaningful, because for a while we forget about everyday worries and simply enjoy being together. After about four hours our guests finally went back home. Everyone seemed happy and left with good memories from the evening.

My day also was different, even though it was my day off. During the day my family prepared the table and made some food for guests. But it didn't involve me in that process, they completed all tasks themselves. Installed tables, moved some furniture, and did other small routines. Of course it was convenient for me, I just did my daily routine on my temp and finished my freelance project.

By the end, after four hours, our guests went to their home with pleasant thoughts that should be remembered for a long time.
