The weather was sunny but freezing. My uncle’s car battery died, so I went to help him
My Wednesday started a bit unusually. The weather was sunny but freezing — around -12 to -14 degrees. When I woke up and opened my eyes, bright sunlight filled the room and made me squint. I rushed to the window to look outside. Everything was shining. The snow was glittering under the sun, and despite the cold temperature, the view felt warm and positive. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy this beautiful winter scene for long. I quickly went through my morning routine and started my workday.
Around 11 AM, after finishing my second meeting, my phone suddenly rang. I was just about to begin working on my tasks when my uncle called. He had gotten stuck in a nearby village because his car wouldn’t start. Apparently, the battery had died due to the cold weather. Of course, I couldn’t leave him without help. I informed my colleague and drove off immediately.
Luckily, my car started without any issues despite the freezing temperature. The village was only about 10 minutes away, so I arrived quickly. My uncle was waiting near the roadside, while his car was parked in a nearby parking lot. I’m still not sure what he was doing there, but that didn’t really matter.
To be honest, I didn’t even have jumper cables or a towing rope with me. My knowledge of car engines is almost zero, so I wasn’t sure how I could help. At the very least, I could offer him a warm car and try to find the necessary tools. We decided to drive to my younger brother’s place since he lives nearby and might have what we needed.
Interestingly, I used to have a towing rope, but I had given it away during my trip to Turkey. Some travelers had car trouble, and I couldn’t just ignore them. I gave them my rope and even five liters of fuel. They were extremely grateful and gave me $100 in return.
Eventually, after we found jumper cables and connected the cars, the engine finally started. At first, it kept turning over and making strange noises as if it wanted to start but couldn’t. That made me doubt whether the battery was the only issue. In the end, everything worked out. My uncle managed to complete his errands and safely returned home around 3 PM without any further problems.
The weather was sunny and frigid. My uncle's car battery died, and I went to help them
My sunny Wednesday started a bit unusually, and the weather was just pleasant. But the temperature was not warm, it was around -12 to -14 degrees. So, when I woke up and opened my eyes, the bright sun rays blinked my eyes. I couldn't wait and rushed toward to the window to look out through the window. Yes, outside was so bright, the snow was glittering, and the sun helped to make it much more positive. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy this amazing weather for long. I rushed to make my morning routine and start my workday.
Unfortunately, after my meeting, around 11 AM, my phone rang. In that time I only finished my second meeting and wanted to start my work tasks. But it was not about me, because my uncle asked me to help him. He was got stuck in the other village and couldn't start his car's engine. Of course I couldn't leave him without help. I notified my responsible colleague and went to help him.
Fortunately, I had no issues with my car battery, even when the temperature was low. I easily started my car engine and went to the neighboring village. From my city it was around 10 minutes, so I drove quickly and met my uncle. He was already waiting for me near the roadside, but his car was parked at the parking area near the building. I don't know what he did there. Well, okay. I think it doesn't matter.
Honestly, at that time I didn't have a towing rope and high-voltage wires, and I didn't have any ideas or plans. How can I help him? My car engine knowledge is close to zero or just zero. But I can provide him with a warm car, help to find all necessary tools from my little brother. Because he lives not so far from that place. Soon we decided to drive him and brought towing rope and high-voltage wires.
I never had high-voltage wires, but I had towing rope. I think it's a necessary tool for each car, and it can help easily if you're stuck on the road. But I was forced to leave my towing rope during my trip to Turkey to another guy. They had some issues with their car and asked me to help them. And I couldn't just leave, that I see they have troubles. So I left my rope and 5 liters of gas. They appreciate me so much and give me $100.
Finally, when we got high-voltage wires, the engine started. But I have some doubts about the battery. Even when we connected wires to the car, it didn't want to start the engine. Just twisted and made some sounds like the engine wanted to start. Overall, my uncle safely came back home around 3 PM. Until that time he did his own tasks and didn't have any issues with the car.
