My quiet weekend and how I spent my day
Over the last two days, I slept a bit longer than usual — until about 10 a.m. This happened because my bedtime had also changed. My first weekend night was Saturday. I went to bed around 2 a.m. and fell asleep without any problems. On the second night, however, I had trouble sleeping and couldn’t fall asleep after 2 a.m. During that time, I was scrolling through Reddit and reading posts one after another. I came across several interesting discussions, but one post in particular caught my attention. The author wanted to move to Tatarstan from Turkey and was asking for advice.
Honestly, I don’t understand who would want to move to Russia right now, or why. I have no idea what this person is hoping to find there. Usually, people want to leave Russia, not move to it. In my opinion, Russia is one of the most unstable countries at the moment. It is the most sanctioned country in the world, and these sanctions seriously affect everyday life. You can’t easily send money abroad, buy many foreign products, or use Russian bank cards outside the country, along with many other restrictions.
After I woke up, I had a typical weekend morning. As usual, I started my day with Good Morning America and spent about an hour watching it. By the time I finished, it was already close to lunchtime. My lunch was very simple — just oatmeal with some fruit. Since I had eaten breakfast not long before, I didn’t feel like having anything heavier.
Before going for a walk, I spent some time in front of my laptop, listening to music and watching YouTube videos. Of course, I did all of this in English, without subtitles or translators. I honestly can’t remember the last time I watched videos in my native languages, Tatar or Russian. The only time I hear them now is from my relatives, who usually watch Instagram, listen to the radio, or watch Tatar movies on TV.
My walk wasn’t very comfortable. The temperature was around −7 degrees, and the snow was blowing straight into my face. It was cold and quite annoying. The roads and sidewalks weren’t cleaned properly, and in some places the snow was so deep that my legs sank almost up to my knees. Luckily, my shoes were tied tightly, so no snow got inside.
I spent the entire evening and night at home with my relatives, especially after my aunt arrived. They started talking about school years and asking questions about the past, but I didn’t really want to remember those days or get involved in the conversation. I just said, “Those teachers really put me through hell,” and mentioned my favorite teachers. I had bad relationships with some of the others — they were always trying to pull me down.
The last two days I slept a bit long, until 10 AM specifically. But my bedtime also was changed. My first weekend night was Saturday. I went to bed around 2 AM and fell asleep quietly. On the second day, I had some problems with my sleep and couldn't fall asleep since 2 AM. During this time I was involved in Reddit and read posts one after another. There I found some interesting posts. But one post was especially interesting and made me wonder a bit. Because the author wanted to move to Tatarstan from Turkey and asked for some advices.
Shortly, I can't understand, who and why they want to move to Russia in the current time. I have no idea, what he wants to find here and what he is hoping for. Usually the people want to escape Russia, but that guy wanted to come here. In my opinion, Russia is the most unstable country right now. Because Russia has a full list of sanctions and takes first place on the sanctions list by countries. All of it will bother your life properly. You can't send money to abroad, can't buy foreign products, can't use Russian credit cards abroad, and many other restrictions.
Well, after woke up, I had my usual weekend. As usual, I started this day with "Good Morning America" and spent around one hour to finish it. When I finished, the time already was closer to lunch. But my lunch was very simple, I just ate oatmeal with some fruits. Because my breakfast was around more than an hour ago. So I didn't want to eat something else, it was good enough.
After lunch, before my walk, I also spend some time, front of laptop. I listened to music and watched some videos on YouTube. Of course I did it in English, without subtitles or any translators. I already don't remember what time I watched videos in my languages (Tatar or Russian). Except I could hear my languages only from my relatives. They usually watch Instagram, listen to the radio, or watch some Tatar movies on TV.
My walk was not comfortable enough. The weather temperature was around -7 degrees, and the snowfall blew directly on my face. It was very annoying and cold enough. Also, the roads and pedestrian areas weren't clean properly. Some places were so deep. When I walked, my legs just sank up to the knees. Fortunately my shoes were tied up well, so the snow couldn't get into my shoes.
The whole evening and night, I spent at home with my relatives. Especially after dinner, when my aunt arrived. They started discussing school years and asked some questions. But I didn't want to recall those days and didn't want to be involved. I just responded, "Those teachers really put me through hell" and gave them my favorite list of teachers. Because I had some bad relations with some of them, and they all the time tried to pull me down.
