Today it’s -20 degrees outside, and it’s another swimming day
I woke up early today, around 6 AM, because I had swimming training with my coach. My training started at 7 AM, so I quickly completed my morning routine. Then I went outside and started my car. Even though it was -20 degrees, my car started very easily. I waited about 5–10 minutes to let the car warm up, and then I drove to the swimming pool. The trip from my apartment to the pool takes approximately twenty minutes, so I drove quickly. Another reason I could drive fast is that at such an early hour, there’s never any traffic.
When I arrived, I quickly went to the locker room. I put on my swimming costume, took a shower, and entered the swimming pool. My coach was already waiting, and when he saw me, he welcomed me. Then I put on my swimming goggles and hat, jumped into the water, and started my exercises.
First, I swam 200 meters using the breaststroke style. Then I swam another 200 meters, but this time I only used my legs and held onto a swimming board with my hands. This exercise wasn’t too hard; I did it easily. However, my next exercise was a bit more difficult because I used only my hands. I had to take a few pauses because I couldn’t swim the whole distance without stopping. During all my free time, I swam using the freestyle (American crawl) style.
