Today, I had a trip to Kazan
My trip started at 11:30 AM, after I successfully started my car engine. Before that, I spent about ten to fifteen minutes installing the car battery. The day before, I had brought it inside my house to keep it warm. Since I don’t have a battery charger, that was the maximum I could do. Fortunately, it worked: the engine started without any issues. Overall, these small actions paid off and made me happy, because I managed to leave on time and complete all my tasks.
I also want to share a few observations about the weather. While I was working on the car, the temperature was still around minus 26 degrees. However, the sun felt almost like a spring sun — bright and surprisingly warm. It didn’t bother me at all; on the contrary, I felt quite comfortable while tightening the battery terminals and other mechanisms.
In Kazan, I had several tasks to take care of, and my mom went with me. She wanted to update the curtains, so I dropped her off near a curtain store and went to handle my errands. By the time I finished, she had already chosen the curtains and was waiting for me. Unfortunately, I was a bit late — I had hoped to finish earlier, but it took around an hour.
After that, we went to a hardware store. Something funny happened there. When I parked the car, I noticed a gorgeous sunset and decided to take a photo. At that moment, another man parked his car nearby. He noticed me taking pictures and jokingly asked, “Do you find it nice content?” It was unexpected and funny, and of course, I replied that the sunset was amazing.
We also visited my old apartment, where I lived from 2020 to 2022. Now, some of my relatives are living there, but only for a few more months. The owner informed them that they would have to move out in February. Because of that, we decided to stop by and take some things — both items I had left there and some of their belongings.
We finished our trip around 6 PM after visiting the Auchan market. As usual, we bought groceries, fruit, household supplies, and other everyday items. In the fruit section, my mom suggested buying a pomelo. I had never tried it before and had only just learned the name. It looked like a very large citrus fruit with a thick peel. I actually liked it — the taste was mild and not sour at all — although the price was a bit high: 300 rubles, or about $4 each.

After, we went to hardware store. But a hilarious thing happened. When I arrived to parking area, I noticed a gorgeous sunset. So I decided to take a photo. However, in that time someone parked his car near me. I think he noticed me, that I took a photo, and decided to joke with me. "Do you find it nice content?" It was especially interesting and fun. Of course I responded to him about this amazing sunset.
We also visited my old apartment. In that apartment I lived during 2020-2022 years. But now some of my relatives are living out their last months. Why last months? The apartment owner noticed them about you moving out during the February. Therefore, we decided to go there and brought some things, that I left for my relatives and some of their own things too.
We finished our trip to Kazan about 6 PM after visiting Aushan market. As usual, we bought some groceries, fruits, household supplies and other daily things. While we walked around the fruit area, my mom recommended buying one fruit, called the pomelo. I never tried it early and the first time I heard that name. But it was very like a big orange or like citrus fruits, only it has a thick layer of peel. In fact, I liked that fruit, the taste was pleasant, not sour, but the price was a bit expensive. 300 rubles or $3.98 each.

- “she already chosen curtains” → “she had already chosen the curtains”
2. Articles (a / the):
- “install my car battery” → “install the car battery” (specific battery)
- “went to hardware store” → “went to a hardware store”
3. Word choice (very important for advanced level):
- “special charger device” “a special charger” or “a battery charger”
- “brought me successful consequences” → “had positive results” / “paid off”
- “very like a big orange” → “very similar to a big orange”
4. Style & flow
You sometimes over-explain simple actions and repeat ideas. Native speakers would compress this a bit.
Example:
- “Overall, my small actions with the battery, brought me successful consequences and made me happy.”
- “Overall, these small actions paid off and made me happy.” (Much more natural)
