It was extremely cold outside, around -20 degrees

In the evening, I went for a walk. The temperature was as low as -20 degrees, but when I went outside, I felt comfortable for the first time and thought it wasn’t that cold. However, after a few minutes, when I reached the park, my hands started to freeze. The part of my hood around my neck was covered with frost because warm air from my mouth turned into frost when I spoke to myself. My hood, beard, and even my face were covered with it. Even my eyelids felt a little frozen — I noticed it when I tried to blink.

At that moment, I felt like someone from a northern city. And if I hadn’t spoken, I think frost would still have appeared, because the weather was extremely cold and every breath of warm air immediately turned into frost.

This is a photo I took during my walk, earlier, around the New Year holidays. The colors you can see — green, white, and red — are the national colors of the Republic of Tatarstan. In the picture, you can see the word “VAMIN” written on the wall of a building. VAMIN is a local company from Tatarstan that produces dairy products such as milk, cheese, butter, and other related products

I was speaking to myself because many people on YouTube say it’s very useful and helps you think in English. So I decided to try it again. It wasn’t new for me — I had already mentioned before that I sometimes talk to myself. I chose that moment because I was alone in the park and was sure nobody would hear me. I didn’t want to look strange. Even if someone had heard me, I think it wouldn’t have been a problem — they could have thought I was just talking on the phone.

Extremely cold outside, around -20 degrees

In the evening I went for a walk. Even the temperature was -20 degrees. But when I went outside, I felt comfortable for the first time and thought it was not so cold. However, after a few minutes when I reached the park my hands started freezing. And my hood near the throat was covered with a frost. Because when I spoke by myself, from my mouth came warm air and it covered my hood, brown, and my face with frost. Even my eyes were slipped, I felt it when I tried to blink. And I was very like to people from the northern cities. But if I didn't speak, I think the frost was covered also. Because the weather is so cold, and each second I breathe with warm air.

Yeah, I tried speaking to myself, because everyone on YouTube said it's so useful and can help think in english. Therefore, I tried it, but it wasn't new for me. Before, I already mentioned how I spoke to myself. I just decided it, because I was alone at the park and I was sure nobody would hear me. I just didn't look like a stupid guy. Even if someone hears me, I think it's not critical. He could imagine "him just speaking on the phone".

1. Feedback (honest and detailed)
Overall impression:
- Your ideas are very clear
- Good use of past tense
- Nice descriptive details (frost, hands freezing, park)
1) Main problems: grammar accuracy, word choice, and sentence structure
2) Some sentences are long and slightly confusing

You are definitely understandable, which matches your main goal. Now let’s polish it.

2. Common mistakes & corrections

“Even the temperature was -20 degrees”
Correct options:
- The temperature was as low as -20 degrees.
- It was around -20 degrees.
“Even” is not used correctly here.

“I was very like to people”
- Wrong structure
Correct:
- I felt very similar to people from northern cities.
- I felt like someone from a northern city.

“my hood near the throat”
- Unnatural phrasing
Better:
- the part of my hood near my neck
- the hood around my neck

“brown”
- Wrong word
You meant “beard”
- my hood, beard, and face were covered with frost

“Even my eyes were slipped”
- Wrong verb
Correct:
- Even my eyes felt sticky.
- Even my eyelids froze a little.
- I felt it when I tried to blink.

“think in english”
- Capitalization → think in English

“I just didn't look like a stupid guy”
- Slightly unnatural
Better:
- I didn’t want to look stupid.
- I didn’t want to look strange.
