Finally, I spent the whole day at home and really took some time for myself
The day started with a cloudy sky, light snowfall, and a temperature of around -10 degrees. None of that affected me, though, because I stayed at home all day and didn’t have any plans. I only left the apartment in the evening—or rather, at night—around 9 PM, to go for a walk.
During the day, I didn’t do anything special or new. As usual, I practiced my English, watched some interesting videos on YouTube, and started watching the last part of Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows. Tomorrow, I plan to finish part two and also watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I also worked on my blog: I added a few new features and improved the code overall.
By the evening, the weather became much snowier. A snowfall, mixed with a light blizzard, started around 5 PM and lasted until about 10 PM. By that time, everything was completely covered in snow, and walking became difficult and uncomfortable. During my walk, I was wearing a light jacket, and I really felt the difference. The snow blew straight into my face and under my hood, and the wind cut right through me.
I also noticed a lot of school students outside—probably kids from grades 6 to 8. They were everywhere, as if they had all been let out at once. The streets were crowded, and they were very loud. Honestly, I don’t really understand their behavior—it felt almost animal-like. They were climbing on everything they could and constantly falling into the snow. Maybe they find it fun, but for me, lying in the snow and freezing has never been enjoyable.
This day started with a cloudy sky, a little bit of snow, and the temperature was -10 degrees. All of it didn't influence for me. Because I spent all day at home, I didn't have any plans. I left my home only in the evening, for a walk. Maybe correctly say in the night. It was around 9 PM. Well, during my day I didn't do something special or new. As usual I practiced my english, watched some interesting videos on YouTube. Started watching last part of Harry Potter - Deathly Hallows. Tomorrow I want to finish part two and watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I also worked on my blog. I added some new features and just improved the code.
My evening started out a bit snowy. Closer to the evening started snowfall and a bit blizzard. It started around 5 pm and ended at 10 pm. But during that time everything was covered with the snow. And already walking was challenging and uncomfortable. Plus, during my walk, I wear my simple jacket, and it lets me know. Because I started to feel how the snow blew on my face and got into my jacket hood. And the wind pierced me throughout.
During my walk I noticed so many school students, around 6-8 classes. They were everywhere, as if they were kicked out. So the streets were crowded with them and their loud voices. Honestly I can't understand why their behavior is very like to animals. They climbed everywhere if it was possible or just fell into the snow. I don't know maybe it's fun, but for me lying on the snow and freezing never was fun.
What you did well:
- Your text is easy to understand overall.
- You use past tenses quite well.
- The structure is logical: morning → day → evening → walk → observations.
- You’re not afraid of long sentences — that’s good for progress.
2. Main problems to work on:
Prepositions
- in the night → ✅ at night
- influenced for me → ✅ affected me
Unnatural verb choices
- I didn't do something special → ✅ I didn’t do anything special
- lets me know → ✅ I could feel it / it showed
Word order & articles (a / the)
- I wear my simple jacket → ✅ I was wearing a light jacket
- covered with the snow → ✅ covered in snow
Tone when talking about students:
- Grammatically okay, but stylistically a bit harsh. In advanced English, we soften opinions slightly.
3. Common sentence corrections (examples)
I’ll show a few before → after corrections so you can learn patterns:
- All of it didn't influence for me. → None of it affected me.
- Maybe correctly say in the night. → Or rather, at night.
- During my day I didn't do something special. → During the day, I didn’t do anything special.
- I wear my simple jacket. → I was wearing a light jacket.
- The wind pierced me throughout. → The wind cut right through me.
