The temperature outside was –16°C, but after finishing my workday, I decided to go for a walk anyway
I started working at 9 a.m. and finished at 6 p.m. During the day, I had several tasks to handle. One of them was new for me and was related to the Telegram API. I needed to check its functionality and analyze the code because there were issues with notifications. Today, I managed to test and review all of that code, although I still haven’t reached a final conclusion.
After some time, the lead developer sent me a message about one of my previous tasks. We discussed the main problem, and I explained what fixes I had added and why. His questions weren’t about mistakes on my part; on the contrary, I needed to extend the solution by adding a few more fixes within the scope of the task. Overall, the workday was quite good — not too difficult and without any serious worries.
In the evening, I decided to take a walk around the central square. I was hoping to take a photo of the New Year tree, but unfortunately, the lights were not turned on. And the actual temperature was –16°C, but it felt closer to –20°C. If there had been wind, it would have been even colder, but luckily, the air was calm. As soon as I took off my gloves, I immediately felt the cold, and my hands began to freeze. This was unpleasant, especially because I needed to take photos.
When I pulled my phone out of my pocket, it was ice-cold. After unlocking the screen, everything worked very slowly. Opening the camera app took about five seconds, and the camera itself behaved a bit unstably. Still, I managed to take several photos so I would have some options to choose from. When I got home, I selected a few interesting and colorful shots and posted them on my blog.
