YouTube’s algorithms recommended me some interesting videos, and it made me laugh
Today the weather was a bit rainy, cloudy, without any sun, and the temperature was around 0 or +1 degrees. It’s a bit crazy, because I clearly remember that one year ago I arrived in Kazan from Turkey, and the weather back then wasn’t so bad, because everything was frozen. The temperature was below zero, and another very important thing — there was no rain and everything was dry. However, the weather app shows that cold air will arrive only around December 6–8. Until that time, the temperature will be around +4 degrees. I don’t know if it’s good or bad, but for me it’s better, because I’m still using my summer tires, and +4 is definitely better than –10.
Generally, my day wasn’t bad, it was very similar to my regular days. Today I had a meeting with our CEO for about an hour. Everyone discussed work issues. But I had problems with my microphone — nobody could hear me clearly. It already happened before, and today it repeated again. Because of that, I skipped my turn to speak with the CEO. He just checked my tasks in our CRM system and added a comment like “you have some troubles with your mic.” Honestly, lately I haven’t had any difficult tasks, or they were tasks from another colleague, so there wasn’t much to discuss anyway.
Also something interesting happened while I was searching for a movie to practice my English. YouTube showed me a movie about Hitler. I didn’t search for it on purpose, but YouTube’s algorithm decided to recommend it to me. And while I watched it, I learned some facts about his early life and other things. There was also a part describing World War II — how it started, how he prepared for it, how it ended, and so on. One thing was especially interesting for me: when the author started comparing some things with our current time, some moments were very similar to our current situation.
Well, after I finished it, YouTube recommended me another video about Putin. If you don’t know who that is: Putin is the “president” of Russia. That’s why it was very funny — I felt something about how YouTube was making that comparison. Yes, I also watched it, but it wasn’t as interesting, because many things were already familiar to me.
