It’s so awful to have such bad weather all week and spend all my time at home
The weather is crazy— the whole sky is covered with clouds, and the rain has been non-stop all day. Because of that, I stayed at home and worked on my freelance project. It was actually very useful because I was productive and successful. I finished many tasks on my project, although I didn’t complete everything. However, I completed what I planned and promised to my client. I also realized something important about my productivity: when I work on my main job all day and then switch to another task, my productivity drops significantly. I knew this before, but today I experienced it in real life.
While taking a break, I decided to check the things I had packed in a box. I had packed all my belongings when I lived in Kazan, and I also put some things there after my trips. I found some interesting items because I had forgotten about them. Some were useful, and some were memorable souvenirs from my travels.
First, I found my flashlight. I bought this flashlight in Pattaya, Thailand, in February–March 2024. I bought it because I planned to climb a volcano in Indonesia (near Jakarta). I bought it at Decathlon, and it’s a very cool flashlight—it has 600 lumens of brightness. At that time, I also bought a raincoat, warm clothes, special walking shoes, and other items. I haven’t used these things yet—they’re just waiting for the right moment. About the volcano: I couldn’t go because all the tickets were sold when I decided to go, so I missed the trip.
Next, I found my hand scales. In the past, when I traveled, I always packed big (100L) luggage with all my clothes, even some I never wore, thinking I might need extra pants or coats. I used the scales to check my luggage weight. But in recent years, I’ve only brought my backpack with very important items, which is also cheaper because I don’t have to pay for extra luggage.
Third, I found my Rubik’s Cube (3x3). When I worked at my previous job and went to the office, a colleague of mine always solved a Rubik’s Cube. I found it interesting and fun, so I got one for myself. Today, I tried solving it and succeeded.
Lastly, I found my collection of country flags from Europe. When I first visited Europe, I decided to collect flags from each country. Later, I lost interest and forgot about it. Right now, I have flags from Spain, France, Italy, and the EU symbol with stars.
