This morning started very early because I went to my village. I drove my relatives there, and they continued on to another village with my uncle. I can’t name each of my relatives’ villages, but I can say they are in the Kukmor district. They went because there was a Muslim memorial meal (we have a tradition called “koren ashy”), where a mullah or sometimes an abystay (a respected elder woman) comes to recite Quranic prayers (dua). Our relatives spent the whole day there, but my sister, aunt, and I stayed at home.
While I was relaxing and updating my blog, my aunt prepared the bath. She washed the bathhouse floors, changed the old water in the tank, and brought some wood. This time my sister cooked lunch (potatoes) and did other housework. While we talked about zoomers, boomers, and other things, she forgot about the potatoes and burned them. Then she tried to blame me for her mistake. However, we still had lunch, and the food my sister prepared wasn’t too bad, even though it was a little burned.
When my relatives came back, it was around 1–2 PM. By that time the bathhouse was ready, so I decided to try it. But I’m not a big fan of baths — I’ve already mentioned this in other posts. As usual, it was very hot and difficult for me, and I could only stay inside for about 20 or maybe 30 minutes. So for the next two weeks (or more) I won’t even think about the bath. Afterward, I drank tea because my relatives had brought so many delicious dishes. There were lots of traditional Tatar foods. I don’t even know how to describe them all. After eating, I was full and decided to continue working on my blog.
On my blog I added a new function and improved some things. I added a sorting feature on the main page, so now everyone can sort posts by latest or oldest, and also choose between newest and recently updated posts. In the future I want to add more types of sorting. I also started updating the design and improving the code style. Next time, I plan to add more improvements.
