Today I visited horse racing

The first part of the day I spent at home, because the morning was cloudy and even a little rainy. So, I decided to stay at home and do some routine tasks. Also, I practiced my English with the American show Good Morning America. Every day they talked about Charlie Kirk and his investigation. If anyone doesn’t know, he was a politician. If I remember correctly, he was from the Republican Party, and a week ago he was killed. Recently there have been many attempts against Republicans: first Trump, then another man (I don’t remember his name), and now Kirk.

I saw for the first time how horses rode with a cart and rider. Earlier, I had seen it only in videos or movies

The second part of the day was more positive. After I finished my lunch, I decided to go to the horse racing, because I didn’t want to spend the whole day at home, even though the weather was still a bit cloudy. So I took my car and went to the special place where the city administration organizes horse racing every year. I arrived at about 1 PM, and after 10 minutes the races started.

Honestly, I don’t really like watching horse racing or other entertainment where animals are involved. I think it’s not fun and it just torments the poor animals. Well, there were three types of competitions that I watched. The first was horse racing with riders. The second was horses pulling carts loaded with hay — I think this competition was really hard for the horses. The third was when horses had to ride through challenges. There were also different race distances: 1200, 1600, 2000, and 2400 meters.

Also there was even a funny moment. During one cart race, a wheel fell off the cart, but the horse still managed to take first place! That horse was very fast, and even without the wheel it finished the race. Luckily, no one was injured, including the horse. In total, I spent about 3 hours there, walked around the area, took 10,000 steps, and also took some pictures of the horses starting and finishing their races.
